Welcome to The Handyman SF (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, booking pages, and services (collectively, the “Platform”). By submitting a booking, clicking Complete or Submit, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Our Role – Referral Platform

The Handyman SF is ONLY a referral and scheduling platform. We connect customers with independent handymen/contractors (“Providers”). We do not perform handyman work ourselves and we are not a licensed contractor under California law. All services are provided exclusively by Providers. Each Provider is fully responsible for their work, quality, and compliance with all applicable laws, including the laws of the City and County of San Francisco and the State of California (licensing, business registration, labor, tax, and safety regulations). The Handyman SF has no responsibility or liability for the services, conduct, or legal compliance of Providers.

2. Independent Providers

  • Providers are independent businesses and are solely responsible for their qualifications, licenses, insurance, and compliance with San Francisco and California law.
  • Any agreements for pricing, timing, warranties, or materials are solely between you and the Provider.
  • The Handyman SF does not supervise, monitor, or guarantee Provider work.

3. Fees & Payments

  • The Handyman SF does not charge any platform service fees to customers.
  • All payments for labor, materials, or visit fees are made directly to the Provider.
  • The Handyman SF is not a party to any financial arrangement between you and the Provider.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • You may cancel or reschedule your booking directly with the Provider or via the Platform, subject to Provider availability.
  • Any cancellation fees, deposits, or refunds are determined by the Provider and not by The Handyman SF.

5. Privacy & Communications

By submitting your contact information, you consent to being contacted about your booking and our services. Please see our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Acceptable Use

  • Provide accurate and truthful booking details.
  • No fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity.
  • Do not disrupt or misuse the Platform.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • The Platform is provided “as is.” We make no guarantees about Provider availability, workmanship, or outcomes.
  • Provider Responsibility: All workmanship, safety, materials, and legal compliance are the sole responsibility of the Provider.
  • Limitation: To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability shall not exceed USD $100. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Handyman SF, its affiliates, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your interactions with Providers or your violation of these Terms.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

10. General Provisions

  • Severability: If any part of these Terms is held invalid, the rest remain in full effect.
  • Electronic Consent: By using the Platform, you agree that electronic acceptance is legally binding.
  • Arbitration (Optional): Disputes may be resolved by binding arbitration, unless prohibited by law.
