Terms of Service – The Handyman SF

Welcome to The Handyman SF (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, booking forms, communications, and referral services (collectively, the “Platform”). By submitting a booking, clicking Complete or Submit, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

1. Our Role – Referral Platform

The Handyman SF is a referral and scheduling platform only. We connect homeowners, renters, and businesses with independent handymen and contractors (“Providers”). We do not perform repair, maintenance, or remodeling work and are not a licensed contractor under California law.

All services are performed solely by independent Providers. Each Provider:

Operates as an independent business entity or contractor;
Is responsible for their own tools, materials, quality, and results;
Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including licensing, insurance, and taxes.

The Handyman SF does not guarantee, supervise, or control the quality or legality of any Provider’s work.

2. Independent Providers

Providers are not employees or agents of The Handyman SF.
All agreements, pricing, and warranties are strictly between you and the Provider.
The Handyman SF is not responsible for verifying or endorsing any Provider’s qualifications or licenses.

3. Booking, Fees, and Payments

The Handyman SF may charge a referral or booking fee for connecting you to a Provider.
Payments for labor, materials, or visits are made directly between you and the Provider.
The Handyman SF is not a party to any financial transaction.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations or changes must be coordinated directly with the Provider.
Each Provider may set their own refund or cancellation policy.
The Handyman SF does not process refunds for Provider services.

5. Communications and Privacy

By using the Platform or submitting your contact details, you consent to receive messages, emails, or calls from The Handyman SF and/or Providers regarding your booking. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more details.

6. Acceptable Use

Provide accurate and truthful booking information.
Use the Platform for legitimate service requests only.
Do not engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity.

7. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” The Handyman SF makes no guarantees about Provider availability, reliability, or quality.

You acknowledge that The Handyman SF:

Does not employ or supervise Providers;
Is not liable for damages, loss, or dissatisfaction from Provider services;
Is not responsible for third-party actions or conduct.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

The Handyman SF’s total liability shall not exceed USD $100.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or property damage.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Handyman SF, its owners, affiliates, and employees from any claims or losses arising from your use of the Platform, your interactions with Providers, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

At our discretion, disputes may alternatively be resolved through binding arbitration, as permitted by California law.

11. Modifications to the Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Updated versions will be posted on our website. Continued use of the Platform after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
