Text Message Terms

These terms apply to text messages (SMS and MMS) from The Handyman SF and HandymanNow, sent from (415) 449-8213 and from short codes or numbers used by our verification provider.

1. What you receive

Homeowners who send a service request: messages about that request, follow-up questions (including from an automated assistant), updates, and a check on whether you still need help.
Handymen who sign up for leads by text: job lead offers that describe the kind of work and the area, payment links, and account messages. Leads are covered by the HandymanNow Lead Texts Terms.
Anyone signing up on this Site: a one-time verification code.
Replies to messages you send us.

2. Message frequency and cost

Message frequency varies with your requests and, for handymen, with the leads available in your trades and areas. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.

3. How to stop or get help

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from that number. We will send one message confirming that you have opted out.
Reply START to receive texts again.
Reply HELP for help, or email sfthehandyman@gmail.com or call (415) 449-8213.

Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase or of signing up. By giving your number and agreeing to receive texts, you confirm that you are the subscriber of that mobile number or have the subscriber's permission, and you agree that messages may be sent using automated technology.

5. Carriers

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. Privacy

We do not sell or share your text-message opt-in consent with third parties for their own marketing. How we use contact details you give us with a request is explained in the Privacy Policy and the HandymanNow Privacy Policy.

7. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our text messaging.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows the latest version.
